One of the biggest reasons Kenyan brands fall off social media is a lack of planning. You start strong in January, run out of ideas by week three, and by February the page goes quiet. This 30-day content calendar solves that problem permanently. Use it every month as a repeatable system that keeps your content consistent, strategic and sales-focused.
How to Use This Calendar
This calendar is built around the 4-pillar content framework: Educate, Entertain, Inspire and Convert. Each week distributes content across all four pillars so your audience never feels "sold to" too hard, but also never goes a week without a clear call to action.
Before you start, define these for your brand:
- Your primary platform (Instagram, Facebook or both)
- Your posting frequency (we recommend 5x/week minimum)
- Your brand voice (professional, casual, humorous, inspirational)
- Your 3 core content themes (e.g. for a restaurant: food, team culture, customer stories)
Week 1: Foundation Week
Monday — Educate: Share a "Did you know?" tip related to your industry. Keep it short, visual and genuinely useful. Example: "Did you know that 72% of Kenyans research a business on their phone before visiting? Here's how to make sure they find you first 👇"
Tuesday — Entertain: Behind-the-scenes content. Show your workspace, a typical morning, or a funny moment from your team. Use Reels format for maximum reach. Add trending audio.
Wednesday — Convert: Showcase your flagship product or service. Include a clear CTA: "DM us 'START' to book your free consultation." Use before/after format if applicable.
Thursday — Inspire: Share a client success story. Even a short quote with permission works: "After working with us for 3 months, [Client] increased their monthly revenue by 180%." Add a real photo if possible.
Friday — Entertain/Engage: Ask a question or run a poll in Stories. "What's your biggest business challenge right now? A) Getting customers B) Keeping customers C) Managing time D) All of the above." Engagement drives reach.
Weekend: Lighter content. A motivational quote (make it relevant to your niche, not generic), a photo of a local event you attended, or a community shoutout.
Week 2: Authority Week
Monday — Educate: A carousel post teaching a 5-step process. Carousels get 3x more engagement than single images because people swipe through multiple times. Title slide: "5 mistakes killing your [niche] business." Slides 2–6: one mistake each. Final slide: CTA.
Tuesday — Convert: Introduce a specific offer or package. Be specific about what's included and the result the client gets. Not "we offer digital marketing" but "we'll set up and run your Google Ads for 30 days and guarantee at least 50 qualified leads or we'll work for free."
Wednesday — Inspire: Your origin story. Why did you start this business? What problem were you trying to solve? Authenticity builds community. Kenyan audiences especially respond to stories of starting from nothing.
Thursday — Educate: A myth-busting post. "3 things people believe about [your industry] that are completely wrong." This format gets saved and shared because it challenges assumptions.
Friday — Entertain: Celebrate a team member or a customer anniversary. Tag them if they consent. People reshare posts they are tagged in, expanding your reach.
Week 3: Community Week
Monday — Inspire: Share an industry stat that surprises people. "Only 3% of Kenyan SMEs have an active, optimised Google Business Profile. That means 97% of your competitors are invisible on Google Maps. Are you?" Pair with a graphic.
Tuesday — Entertain: A day-in-the-life Reel. 15–30 seconds showing what a typical workday looks like. Add text overlays identifying what is happening in each scene. Use upbeat trending audio.
Wednesday — Convert: Urgency-driven post. "We have 2 client slots open for July. If you want to grow your [specific result] before end of year, now is the time." Scarcity is a powerful, honest motivator when it is genuine.
Thursday — Educate: Answer the most common question you get asked. Present it as "Our most asked question: [question]. Here's the honest answer:" This positions you as an expert and generates saves.
Friday — Community: Share and comment on a local business or community initiative. Tag them. This builds goodwill, gets you noticed by their audience, and is just good citizenship.
Week 4: Conversion Week
Monday — Convert: A detailed case study post. One client, one problem, one solution, one measurable result. Use numbers: "From Sh0 to Sh480,000/month in 90 days. Here's how we did it for [Client]."
Tuesday — Educate: "How we do [your core service] differently." This is a conversion post disguised as education. Walk through your process and subtly highlight what separates you from competitors.
Wednesday — Inspire: A milestone post. Celebrate a business anniversary, a client number reached, a team achievement. Show gratitude. Audiences love seeing brands that are humble and human.
Thursday — Convert: Testimonial compilation. Pull 3–5 of your best client quotes and create a single graphic or carousel. Let your clients sell for you.
Friday — Reflect + Preview: A weekly recap and a preview of what is coming next month. "This month we [achievement]. Next month we are launching [something exciting]. Stay tuned." This builds anticipation and gives people a reason to keep following.
Caption Formula That Works Every Time
- Hook: First line must stop the scroll. A bold statement, question or statistic.
- Body: 2–4 sentences delivering the value you promised in the hook.
- CTA: One clear action. Follow, save, comment, DM, click the link in bio.
- Hashtags: 8–12 relevant hashtags at the end or in the first comment.
The best content calendar in the world is useless if you do not execute it consistently. Schedule your posts in advance using Buffer or Meta Business Suite every Sunday evening for the week ahead. Remove the daily decision-making and your consistency will improve dramatically.
